Proving to be very popular on the Sapphire Coast already, we have been asked for some more details about this new brew, so here goes.


This Lager originates from its’ namesake. Vienna is the capital city of Austria. Originally developed by Anton Dreher, the style is nearly extinct in its’ birthplace, but is now predominately being brewed in Mexico after being introduced by Austrian migrants in the 1800’s.


A more malt forward lager brewed through with Crystal Medium, Munich Light and of course Vienna and a light sprinkling of Pilsner malts make this 4.7% Vienna Lager comes to life with firm bread and biscuit notes finishing crisp thanks to the Weihenstephaner yeast strain.

Local Ryefield whole cone Saaz hops are used for a delicate, refreshing bitterness and Styrian Goldings used for a mildly earthy and peppery knockout.

Its hard to believe that Woodstock has just celebrated its 50th Anniversary.  
From August 15-18, 1969, 32 musical acts performed on Max Yasgurs 600acre farm in Bethel, New York and history was made!  Nothing like this Festival had happened before, billed as “3 days of Peace and Music” Woodstock attracted an audience of close to half a million music lovers.
So many musical careers were shot to stardom as a result and became household names.  Joe Cocker, Santana, Crosby Stills Nash and Young and Janis Joplin among others became instant rock gods.

The music is still as vibrant today as it was 50 years ago, and although some of the original artists are no longer with us, many are still as popular as ever.

A huge celebration of “50 years of Woodstock” will be held at Oaklands on Saturday 5th October, featuring over 20 of the regions finest artists.  The artists represented include Richie Havens, (who opened Woodstock) and Jimi Hendrix (who was the final act) Joan Baez, Arlo Guthrie, Country Joe and the Fish, The Who, Ten Years After, Santana, Janis Joplin, Jefferson Airplane, Blood Sweat and Tears, Joe Cocker, Keef Hartley, The Band, Sly and the Family Stone, Crosby Stills Nash and Young and Canned Heat.  
Proudly presented by The Figmentz together with Longstocking Brewery and Oakland Events Centre, with a great concert sound and lighting in a beautiful out door setting this will be a very special event.

The latest craft brew will be on tap very soon, it will replace the very popular Cranberry Gose. The Gose was the first sour that we put out and will return in summer as a very refreshing Beer.

We all know it’s Winter here on the Sapphire Coast, but doesn’t it still feel a bit like Summer somedays!

So we have created a refreshing Cranberry and Lime Gose (pronounced goes-ah)

We’ve kettle soured this wheat beer with lactobacillus brevis strain and finished it up in the fermenter with US-05 dry ale yeast, 5kg of whole cranberries, fresh limes, oranges and homegrown coriander seed.

For the hops we used the fabulous whole cone Saaz Ryefield hops from Bemboka, then the pure Murray River rock salt.

Dry, sour, tart, citrus notes with a balanced salty bite.

The colour …….. sensational and all at 4.2% ABV.

We don’t have the space to say enough about this very special first addition to our new experimental six week project.

What a guy, what a chef!
We absolutely loved having Fast Ed from Better Homes and Gardens visit our little brewery!

We promised to share Ed’s to-die-for Lamb Rib recipe with a miso and Kolsch Lager glaze with you and HERE IT IS!
It’s super easy and you’ll LOVE it!

Prep: 15 Minutes – Cook: 80 Minutes – Serves 8

• 16 lamb ribs, partially trimmed
• 2 Tbsp white miso paste
• 2 tsp chilli powder
• 2 tsp sea-salt akes
• 1⁄4 cup treacle
• 120ml apple cider vinegar
• 200ml Longstocking Kolsch Lager
• 3 Lebanese cucumbers, cut into wedges
• 1 bunch radish, trimmed, halved

Preheat oven 180oC. Put ribs, miso, chilli pow der and salt in a large baking dish, tossing to coat. Drizzle over treacle, vinegar and ale. Cover with a layer of baking paper, followed by a layer of foil, sealing tightly to enclose. Bake for 1 hour.

Uncover ribs, skim off excess fat and cook for further 20 minutes or until crispy.

Arrange ribs on a serving platter and serve with radish and cucumber on the side.

Our Kolsch Lager…
Yes that’s right our Kolsch is indeed a lager not the traditional ale!
We use a lager based yeast to give our Kolsch a mouthfeel more like a lager. An easy drinking Lager with a blend of Galaxy and Topaz hops giving a floral aroma backed by soft spice. Its a perfect quencher for a Spring afternoon.
